Inauguration



In presence of national and local high authorities, the Gurvich Museum was inaugurated at the Metropolitan Cathedral on October 14th, 2005; with a concert conducted by Ana Inés Zeballos, Sergio Tulbovitz and León Biriotti who played ancient Sephardic songs.

Mr Fernando Butazzoni and Martín Gurvich Añorga addressed the public as Cultural Promotion Director of the Council of Montevideo (IMM) and President of the José Gurvich Foundation respectively.

The Secretary of Education and Culture, Eng. Jorge Brovetto and Founder Julia Añorga de Gurvich, proceeded to cut the ribbon and started a visit around the museum.
Numerous public joined them.
