The Museum is situated in the Constitution Building (Edificio Constitución) on the Matriz Square (Plaza Matriz) beside the Metropolitan Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana), in the heart of the Old City (Ciudad Vieja) of Montevideo.
These premises are rented, but the Foundation's objective is to purchase and arrange its own permanent place.

The building is well equipped with a computer-based intelligent system with the latest generation that controls:

air conditioning cold - heat in all floors. video surveillance (recorded closed circuit). intruders perimeter detector. smoke and fire detector.

The building's facade keeps part of the original construction and it is illuminated with the most modern systems to highlight this valuable characteristic.

The equipment and furnishing has been carried out with the highest quality standards available.

Various materials were recovered from the previous original construction. French iron columns, among others, were added to the space assigned to the museum in different places for them to be remarked.
